Definition:
NetBeans is a free IDE that can be used to create Java and JavaFX applications. It also provides support for many of the other languages supported by the JVM (e.g., Ruby, Javascript, PHP, etc..)
NetBeans is also known for being a platform that simplifies the development of desktop applications by providing APIs that handle commonly needed tasks.
